This picture was made at Christmas of 1934, shortly after they moved into their new house. Taking a Christmas family picture became a family tradition with the Willis Brothers Photography being called each year to perform the ritual.

I think it's easy to identify the family members based on the order of their birth above.

The note below the picture was written on the back of the picture.

From left to right:  Virginia, Bob, Maude, Mama Nelle, Margaret, Bob, Nelle Jean and Pop.

This is a slightly different picture also taken at Christmas 1934. Mother was visiting from Louisville where she worked and attended school.

The note below the picture appeared on the back of the picture.

I believe this picture was taken about 1949 at Christmas.

Back Row: Mose Lumpkins, Bob Holthouse, Larry Feldhaus, Virginia Holthouse, Jack Feldhaus, Lawrence Feldhaus, BG Holthouse

This picture was taken about 1950 and I assume it was taken at Christmas.

We always opened presents at Mama Nelle and Pop's home on Christmas eve and then went home to wait for Santa Claus to come so we could open those presents Christmas morning.

This was the Mother's Day family reunion in 1959. That's my 1954 Chevrolet in the background on the right. I was in college at the time.

Pop and Mama Nelle were 68 at the time. I'm almost 70 now and I don't feel nearly as old as they look in this picture.

Here's another shot of the same group taken at the same 1959 time.

The picture of all of Mama Nelle and Pop's grandchildren who were present was taken at the same 1959 family reunion.

Back Row: BG and Bob
Front Row: Virginia, Maude, Mama Nelle, Mother, Nelle Jean, and Pop.

Notice the cigarette in Pop's hand. He was 70 years old and lived another 11 years and never stopped smoking, although he encouraged all of his grandchildren to never start smoking and even offered bribs to some in that effort. I seem to remember Steve Feldhaus and Bob Lumpkins each receiving a tract of timberland for reaching a target age and not smoking.
This picture was taken in 1961, at Christmas I presume.

By then, BG was in Cleveland, OH, Maude was in Santa Rosa, CA, Bob was in Osceola, AR, and Nelle Jean was in Buffalo, NY.

By the way - That's a music room behind the living room. It contained a beautiful piano that I banged on from time to time to the tune of chopsticks. Other than that, I never knew anyone in the family to play the piano.

Back Row: Larry Smith (Nelle Jean's husband), BG, Dad, Mose Lumpkins (Maude's husband), Maude, Nelle Jean, Bob

Front Row: Virginia, Era Jean (BG's wife), Mother, Pop, Mama Nelle, Myrtle (Bob's wife)
This picture was taken at the occasion of Mama Nelle and Pop's 50th wedding aniversary in 1961.

This picture was taken at the first family reunion held after Mama Nelle and Pop died . It was held in Osceola, AR in 1975.

I'll add the names later.

This looks like the family reunion at Maude's in Santa Rosa California.  I'm not sure when it was held.

I'll get around to adding the names here later.

I have this reunion labeled 1978 and I believe it was held in Lawrenceburg.

I think this picture was take at the Santa Rosa family reunion.

This family reunion was held in 1981 but I'm not sure where.

See the newspaper article below to explain how this group got together in Lawrenceburg in August of 1984. By this time, Pop and Mama Nelle had both been dead over ten years.

Amazing that this group of brothers and sisters were still together for a reunion in 1984 this late in life.
