This eBook was published in 1888 by Albert B. Tavel and compiled and edited by Hon. William S. Speer.  It is difficult to read because the scan is so light, but the book can be searched and it is worthwhile reading about those the reader may be interested in.

This eBook was published in 1899 by The Cumberland Press and written by Will T. Hale.  I recounts the early history of Tennessee with emphasis on middle Tennessee during the Pioneer days.

This eBook was published in 1880 by the "American" Book and Job Rooms. This is an historical sketch about Robertson's and Donaldson's exploits and adventures in the settlement on the Cumberland now known as Nashville. .

Early History of Nashville

This eBook was published in 1911 by The Board of Education and written by Lizzie P. Elliot.  It contains stories about the early years of Nashville's history, explaining how it was formed and grew early on.

The Battle Book, a Genealogy of the Battle Family in America

This eBook was published in 1930 by The Paragon Press, Montgomery, AL and written by Dr. Herbert Bemerton Battle and issued under the supervision of William James Battle, PhD.  This eBook contains a number of references to the Philips family with Chapter VI starting with "Reminiscences of a Pioneer in Louisiana by Mrs. Martha Philips Martin".  Table 33 on page 353 lists all the "Descendants of Margaret Thomas Philips and Josiah Frederick Williams".  Pictures of both Williams and Philips are also in the eBook.
